If a party is unable to attend a scheduled Transportation Appeal Tribunal of Canada (Tribunal) hearing, they should contact the Tribunal immediately. If a party (or a party's representative) fails to appear at a scheduled Tribunal hearing, the Tribunal may choose to allow the hearing to proceed in the party's absence.
A party's failure to appear at a review hearing without sufficient reason to justify their absence may also result in the loss of their right to appeal the review determination.
If the appellant fails to appear at an appeal hearing, the appeal shall be dismissed. If a respondent fails to appear at an appeal hearing, the hearing shall proceed without the respondent.
