Technology is evolving rapidly, and the use of AI raises issues related to decision-making and decision-writing. In this context, it seems appropriate to establish a policy governing how AI is used by members of the Transportation Appeal Tribunal of Canada (TATC).
The Transportation Appeal Tribunal of Canada (the Tribunal) applies the open court principle.Footnote 1 Its hearings and the official records of the proceedings before the Tribunal are, by default, open to the public.

This Practice direction help parties understand the rules and procedures of the Transportation Appeal Tribunal of Canada (Tribunal).
If a party is unable to attend a scheduled Transportation Appeal Tribunal of Canada (Tribunal) hearing, they should contact the Tribunal immediately. If a party (or a party's representative) fails to appear at a scheduled Tribunal hearing, the Tribunal may choose to allow the hearing to proceed in the party's absence.
A party's failure to appear at a review hearing without sufficient reason to justify their absence may also result in the loss of their right to appeal the review determination.
